After your application is reviewed, you may enroll in the training, go straight to the exam, or receive the NXT Level 1 designation directly, depending on your experience and credentials.

Once you earn your designation, you will be eligible to appear on the NXT Level Training's designation list. In order for your Company to appear, you will need to complete all requirements for Company Designation in this Application.

- Path 1- ENROLL IN TRAINING: Individuals with 1 or more years of experience without a qualifying lighting credential* must complete the six courses and pass the final examination to earn the designation.
- Path 2- STRAIGHT TO EXAM: Individuals with 5 or more years of experience without a qualifying lighting credential* may bypass the training courses and take the final examinations to earn the designation.
- Path 3- DIRECT TO DESIGNATION: Individuals who hold either an LC, CLEP or CLMC credential* may complete this application and provide proof of current credential to earn the NXT Level 1 designation.
*Qualifying lighting credentials include the Lighting Certified (LC) credential from the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (NCQLP), the Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional (CLEP) from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and the Certified Lighting Management Consultant (CLMC) from the International Association of Lighting Management Companies (NALMCO).

In order for your Company to qualify for NXT Level designation, your company must have a minimum of three (3) years experience with lighting retrofit projects that engaged utility incentive programs. Also, your company must have at least one employee who has achieved NXT Level 1 designation. If your company has multiple branches or locations, each branch must complete a separate company application, as the designation will be held at the branch level.
